IPTV Systems

Complex SaaS platforms
What is an IPTV system?
An IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) system delivers television services and video content over a secure network instead of traditional radio waves, satellite signals, or coaxial cables.

It's a complex system made of 3 main components:
- The Content Source: Live TV channels or video-on-demand (VOD) files are converted into digital data packets.
- The Network:
This data is streamed over an IP-based network (broadband, Wi-Fi, or dedicated fiber optics).
- The Receiver:
A set-top box, smart TV, computer, or mobile app decodes the data packets back into a video signal on your screen.

Product implications
The guest / patient controls a TV with a custom interface.

The interface implements the client's graphic charter, adapted by a graphics team to a specific TV browser based on Chromium.

The features are a mix of standard (weather, hotel information, Chromecast...) and custom API integrations (room service).

A Content Management System (CMS) is also integrated to manage video, images and texts specific to the establishment.

‍
The product's complexity lies in managing technical constraints, standard vs custom features and working with sales to provide a premium guest / patient experience.

My contribution:
- Features design and priorization
- User interface design and UX
- Stakeholder alignment and sign-off
- Product requirements for engineers
- Project management
- Partnering with sales to win critical prospects (customization and presentation)
